Quarry Operations Manager - Queensland
 
The role

We are continually looking to invest in our future. As a result, we are looking to appoint a Quarry Operations Manager who will be responsible for Management of the Qld Quarry Operation based at our Narangba office

Reporting to the General Manager Queensland, it is critical that a genuine commitment to safety, health and environmental improvement is practiced in this role.  Exceptional leadership and people management skills are essential, as is effective time management coupled with the ability to plan effectively.

This is a full time permanent position with a fully maintained tool of trade vehicle provided as part of the salary package on offer.

Experienced Field Electrical Automation Technician – At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience heavy industrial electrical diagnostics and advanced service and maintenance in Quarries, Bitumen and water movement.

We are looking for a Senior Crusher Technician to join our Service team based out of NSW.

This candidate must have a Mechanical Fitter background and have vast experience in the crushing and screen industry. The successful applicant will be required to travel to site to assist with onsite repairs and diagnose problems and promote H-E Parts service capabilities and products. The Senior Crusher Technician role is to promote and sell all products and service capabilities, take service bookings and assign jobs to the service team. Project manage all off-site repairs and manage and maintain all site service jobs, along with ensuring that all service personnel abides by H-E Parts policies and procedures.  
To be considered for this position you should possess:
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship in a relevant trade (preferably multi-disciplined).
  • Minimum of 5 year's specific Crusher and Component experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental management.
  • Exposure to and demonstrated understanding of the complexities of managing a mixed mode manufacturing and service business.
  • Established network of relevant sub-contractors and vendors.

River Sands is a diversified manufacturing business with multiple factory, quarry and distribution operations spread around Queensland and Australia. Established over 40 years ago, this growing business manufactures and distributes a wide range of construction materials, chemicals and landscape blends in packaged and bulk forms to the building, mining, concrete, civil and landscape industries around the country.
 
The company has a very active product development and marketing team in place and is constantly seeking and exploring new opportunities for expansion.
 
Due to a change in scope of responsibilities we are seeking an experienced quarry manager to control all operational facets of our sand dredging, processing, classifying and speciality soils blending - split between two sites on 200 hectares of land at Carbrook. The site incorporates several lakes and stilling ponds that are fed from two river systems.

Your responsibilities are wide and diverse and include planning the civils and overburden programme pertaining to the resource, the daily dredging operations, controlling the up-flow sand processing plant, managing stockpiling and blending, as well as plant maintenance activities. You will ensure all activities are conducted in a manner that meets high levels of safety, quality and environmental compliance.
 
Reporting to and working very closely with the Company Operations Manager, you will be a key member of the site operations leadership team. You will manage and lead a small team of experienced and willing personnel to achieve continuous improvement and cost control initiatives across all facets of the sand processing operation.
 
To be successful in this role you will require:
  • Degree in Engineering or Mining Operations - or Advanced Trade qualifications
  • A strong commitment to Safety Management and a working knowledge of Environmental Management Systems
  • A thorough understanding of sand mining and processing equipment including dredges, pumps, trommels, classifiers, stock piling towers, loaders and screening equipment.
  • Strong management, communication and relationship building skills.
  • A strategic and day to day focus on cost control.
  • A focus on continuous improvement to production, safety, quality and environmental issues
