02 Aug 2018 Vacant Position: Production Supervisor

Hanson is seeking an experienced individual to assist in the leadership and control of the Axedale Sand & Gravel Quarry production operations in Axedale VIC.

ASG produces approximately 600,000 Thousand tonnes of Sand per year between 2 x Wash Plants with further improvements to happen in 2019 to achieve 1 Million Tonnes per year. 
The Applicant must be self-motivated, approachable and have an eye for detail.
The Applicant must be able to work well with in a team environment.

Applicants should have an understanding of production exposure in a quarry environment and the skills to supervise staff and maintain the effective performance of the site.

Whilst duties and responsibilities are varied, the scope of the position will include but not be restricted to:
  • Daily supervision of staff and contractor activities
  • Proactive organisation of production schedules
  • Ensuring maximum efficiency and providing leadership for operational improvement in the production operations.
  • Quality control of product and optimisation of blended materials.
  • Involvement in key planning and budgeting activities.
  • Participation in the Axedale Sand & Gravel Quarry leadership group.
  • Total commitment to risk management and Zero Harm (ICARE).
  • Associated administration duties for the above areas.

We have a collaborative approach that is flexible and can respond quickly to the needs of our clients. Due to expansion we are currently seeking to fill the following positions:


Production Supervisor Mobile Crushing


The role

The Production Supervisor Mobile Crushing is responsible for managing all field operations within the division.  This position is responsible for coordinating the procurement and scheduled use of resources, including labour, equipment and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines and quality standards. It promotes the growth and development of field staff and assists them in carrying out their responsibilities as needed. Coordinates use of resources within other divisions and lends support to operational activities for the entire Company.

The applicant

The applicant we are seeking will have a background in Mining, Quarrying and Delivery processes. They will have proven management skills, practices and planning ability. They will also have demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and maintaining focus on priorities. The applicant should hold Tertiary qualifications in Surface Extraction Operations, Project Management or similar and a Production Managers Certificate or S1, S2, S3.



Transport Manager


The role

The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing transport activities and customer service. They control the flow of outgoing finished products to ensure customers receive products on time. As well as being accountable for resolving problems regarding transportation, logistics systems and customer issues.


The applicant

The applicant we are seeking will have a background in either transportation, logistics operation, supply or industry experience. In addition, experience working in the Construction / Quarrying Industry would be highly regarded.

The role
Located at Teven, we are looking for a self-motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Quarry Supervisor. This is a key position where you will be responsible for supervising the day to day operations of the Quarry and be a key part of the leadership team.  This role will motivate and drive the production team to achieve their very best whilst also ensuring compliance to Boral’s safety and environmental management systems.

  • Supervision of daily activities involving employees and contractors
  • Ensuring compliance to Boral’s safety and environmental management systems
  • Promoting a positive safety culture through leadership
  • Coordinate operations to meet product output requirements
  • Anticipate future production requirements and plan accordingly
  • Co-ordinating quality control requirements
  • Ensure that customers receive high quality products and service
Skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated leadership and people supervision experience
  • An uncompromising commitment to safety
  • Previous experience in supervising a quarry/mine operation with Cert IV in Extractive Industries or willing to obtain
  • Previous maintenance planning experience
  • An uncompromising commitment to safety
  • Understanding of plant and equipment maintenance practices
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
  • Be reliable, motivated and be able to work under pressure and changing priorities
