IQA Gold Hard Hat Site Safety Award

To recognise a site’s contribution to the advancement of OH&S in the quarry industry. The nomination can be for:

1. a site that shows sustained leadership in the area of OH&S, or
2. has implemented a suggestion, improvement or invention relating to equipment, processes, training, safety management, industry / community representation that has resulted directly in improved OH&S outcomes, or 
3. sustained excellent performance over a 12 + month period of time which demonstrates improvements in OH&S at the site and within the industry.

Applicants will be judged against the following criteria:

• Evidence of a comprehensive safety management system in operation
• Evidence that safety performance is a focus for the nominated site
• Overview of consultation and collaboration related to safety and outcomes of the consultation
• Examples of at least 3 hazard or risk reduction methods and the outcomes achieved
• Evidence of how actions will sustain improvement, year on year
• Evidence of safety training, awareness and leadership for staff / stakeholders
• And the final word, ‘Why is your site the best in the industry?’

The award winner will be publicised via the IQA website, Quarry Magazine and other media.
