Queensland Branch News

The Queensland Branch of the IQA held its annual Ball for members, guests and partners on the 17th July 2008. The Tattersall’s club hosted the event with a record 238 attendees.

The night started with a rendition of the Blue Danube – quintessential Viennese Waltz, performed by professional dancers Susan Gillingham and Dane Berry. Following the three course meal, the well renowned band “Diamond Life” had the dance floor overflowing and  the walls reverberating to a great mix of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s classics. The dancing and socialising continued late into the night and the hard working – hard playing attitude of the quarry industry members proved true once again.

Congratulations go to the major door prize winners, Dave & Megan Parker, who won a weekend away to the Gold Coast.

Everyone who attended had a great time, and enjoyed the industry socialising and networking, and passes on a special thanks to the many quarry industry suppliers who sponsored the night. They were DIY, Metso, Precision Screens, Retracom, EMECO, Maxam, Hastings Deering, Komatsu, East Coast Crushing, Orica, CME, Tenkate, Johnson Screens, Terex Jaques.
