  Qualification Requirements

In order to gain Certified Practicing Quarry Supervisor or Manager status, the following qualifications requirements apply.

4.1Certified Practicing Quarry Supervisors

Persons seeking Certified Practicing Quarry Supervisor status must hold a Certificate IV in Extractive Industries Operations (MNQ40103) or another qualification recognised by the CP Board as equivalent to that qualification. 

They must also be currently competent in the unit HLTFA1A - Apply Basic First Aid (or an equivalent approved qualification) issued by a Registered Training Organisation.

4.2 Certified Practicing Quarry Managers

Persons seeking Certified Practicing Quarry Manager status must hold a Diploma of Extractive Industries Management (MNQ50103) or another qualification recognised by the CP Board as equivalent to that qualification.

They must also be currently competent in the unit HLTFA1A - Apply Basic First Aid (or an equivalent approved qualification) issued by a Registered Training Organisation.

4.3 Certification for Sites Involving the Use of Explosives

Persons seeking to become Certified Practicing Quarry Supervisors or Managers for sites involving the use of explosives must be competent in the unit of competency MNQOPS513A  - Manage Blasting Operations or another equivalent unit.
