Programme
Friday night:
Check in at the Park and make your own arrangements for dinner.
Try the Parkside Bar & Kitchen Restaurant at the Park or take the short drive into town to explore Naturaliste Cafe, Furneaux Restaurant and Comptoir, The Wharf Bar or The Bayside Inn. All rate well on Trip Advisor.
Please note, you will need to make a booking with the restaurants.
Breakfast is available at the Park or self-cater.
Saturday: 8.45 am for 9.00 am Departure
Ron Bugg’s Tours - Group tour bus will be arranged
Ron Bugg talks 'Rocks'. More details on the program will be sent closer to the day including information around the planned visit to Local Quarry, Anchor Stamp Battery, Mt Paris Dam, Pyengana Farm Gate Cafe & Cheese, Priory Ridge Wines, Lease 65 Oyster Farm and many more venues.
Lunch: Lunch will be held at the Weldborough Hotel. The cost per head is to be confirmed. Please advise any special dietary requirements.
Saturday night: 7.00pm
A Group dinner is scheduled and the cost per head is to be confirmed. Please advise any dietary requirements.
We hope to have a guest speaker to present to us.

Accommodation
The IQA Tasmania Branch have secured preliminary bookings for accommodation with NRMA St Helens Waterfront Holiday Park. These bookings are 'penciled in' only.
Please note: Accommodation MUST be booked directly with the Park, by October 1.
Booking early will allow you a choice of cabins. Please mention 'The Institute of Quarrying' to get the discounted group rates.

Cabins:
All cabins 2, 4 or 6 berth include bathroom, air conditioning, TV, small kitchen, lounge, deck
Breakfasts are not included in the tariff but are available at the restaurant or cook your own
Powered Sites: Bring your own van or camper and use the onsite facilities - Camp kitchen, BBQ areas, amenities, recreation room, children's playground and bouncing pillow

Getting there
From interstate fly into Launceston (closest airport). Then it is a two hour drive via Esk Main Road or three hours from Hobart.
What to Bring
Sturdy footwear
Jacket, warm weather clothing etc and sun protection for either weather
Quarry tour may require PPE that includes long sleeved shirts, trousers and a reflective vest

Ron Bugg is an Education Officer with Tas Minerals Council and is an extraordinary sailor and old time geologist
Garry Richardson from St Helens History Rooms is a publisher of many books on the area and has a wealth of knowledge
