NQLD Site Tour, Dinner & Networking

Join us for a site tour of the BQC Quarries Rock Quarry in the Burdekin district.  The site tour will be followed by dinner, educational and informative presenters and networking at Claredale Pastures, Clare.

Bus:      A bus will be provided from Townsville to BQC Quarry, dependent on numbers.  
              A cost of $20/person, in addition to the registration fee, will be charged to those attendees using the bus.
              The bus will depart Cluden Racecourse @ 4.00pm

SITE

BQC Quarries manufactures stone products from hard rock quarrying and has been servicing the Burdekin, Bowen and Whitsunday regions for over 40 years.  Products include, but are not limited to:

  • Pavement and screening materials for road construction and civil construction
  • CTB, OMC and Precoated material for road construction
  • Rail Ballast
  • Aggregates for concrete plants
  • Sized rock products for flood damage/river trust work/irrigation/landscaping

BQC operates quarries in Bowen and the Burdekin district.

Mandatory PPE:   Hard hats, gloves, High vis long sleeve shirt or long sleeve shirt with high vis vest, long pants and steel capped boots.

6.15pm: Bus departs for transfer to Claredale Pastures Cafe / Make own way to Claredale Pastures

6.30pm: Welcome & Site Debrief from Branch Chair | Greg Rains

6.45pm: Presentation by Event Sponsor | Justin Guilfoyle, Finlay Screening & Crushing

6.55pm: Dinner

7.35pm: Presentation by TMR | Damien Volker
                Damien will present on the foam bitumen plant - what it is, how it works, the benefits to TMR's 
                infrastructure, particularly in NQ conditions, forward planning and how it ties in with the 
                unbound pavement specs.

7.45pm  Dessert

8.05pm  Presentation by TIG | Scott Meyn
                Scott will present an overview of the Haughton Flood Plains Project, where foam bitumen fits into the project, including experiences and challenges with
                foam bitumen.

8.20pm  Networking

9.00pm  Event concludes

IQA Event Cancellation Policy

  1. Cancellation or Postponement by the IQA

    1.1.An IQA event can be an event held in person or virtually. An IQA event is any activity hosted by the IQA and may include Branch events, golf days, site tours or education activity such as workshops and webinars. Where circumstances force the IQA to cancel an event, a refund, limited to the amount paid, will be issued.
    1.2.Where circumstances force the IQA to postpone an event, a credit will be held for any fees paid and applied to the same event when rescheduled. If a participant is unable to attend the rescheduled event or the event is subsequently cancelled, a refund, limited to the amount paid, will be issued.

  2. Cancellation by the Attendee
    2.1.Cancellations received prior to seven (7) days out from the event, or on or before the advertised cutoff date of the event, will receive a refund, limited to the amount paid.

    2.2.Cancellations received within seven (7) days of the event or after the advertised cutoff date are not entitled to a refund. Paid registrations can be transferred to other persons from the same organization. Transfers of registration will be accepted up until 48 hours prior to the event.
    2.3.Some IQA events such as the national conference, H&S conferences and face to face workshops will have event specific terms and conditions. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they are familiar with any specific terms and conditions relating to an event.
    2.4.If a registered attendee fails to attend (in person or virtually) on the day of the event, the person is not eligible for a refund.
    2.5.Any request for a refund or substitution must be made in writing to [email protected]
    2.6.All refunds and credits are to be approved by the CEO or Finance Manager.

IQA Privacy Policy

The IQA collects and stores your personal information for the purposes of providing membership services, education programs, and improving and promoting products, including publication of photographs and other images taken at IQA events and workshops.
