Inland Rail's Andrew Doe and Richard Watkins will provide an overview of the project, specifically covering:
- Overview of the Inland Rail project
- Packaging/delivery arrangements
- Earthworks materials / capping and ballast requirements for NSW projects
- Q and A session
Introducing our speakers:
Andrew Doe
Andrew Doe is the Geotechnical Project Manager for the Inland Rail Program at the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC). He manages the strategy and planning of geotechnical investigations, evaluates geotechnical risk, and provides input to risk controls across the program.
Andrew has more than 20 years’ experience in geotechnical design, asset evaluation and geotechnical risk assessment for major infrastructure projects in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Prior to Inland Rail, Andrew worked in the civil infrastructure sector with organisations including Aurizon, AECOM, and Halcrow.
A Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland and a Chartered Geologist, Andrew has a Bachelor of Science from Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales.
Richard Watkins
Richard Watkins is the Senior Project Manager - Construction Material for the Inland Rail Program at Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) where he is responsible for the development of program-wide procurement strategies for construction water and quarry materials.
Richard has more than 40 years’ experience in delivery of civil infrastructure works and prior to joining Inland Rail, he worked for civil contractors, consultants and client organisations on projects across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the Northern Territory and Papua New Guinea.
Richard has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Central Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Organisational Analysis from the Grubb School of Organisational Analysis. He is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland and a Chartered Professional Engineer.
