The intent of this one day workshop is to provide quarry workers with geotechnical awareness skills and management strategies to minimise the potential risk associated with slope instability and rock falls.
Learning Outcomes
The workshop covers the following topics:
• Quarry design and planning
• Types of ground failure
• Controls for ground failure
• Monitoring for slope instability
• Stockpiles and dumps
Participants will also be given practical examples of how mines and quarries have achieved significant safety improvement through effectively managing slope stability.
