PRESENTER is Townsville born and bred, a recipient of the Order of Australia (OAM) and a former Queensland Young Australian of the Year.  He is passionate about his home town, and after leaving the Defence Force decided to enter politics, becoming a local MP for the Herbert electorate.  Phillip wants to see the Herbert electorate prosper again, to be a region where there is opportunity and reward for effort, and a city ion which we can have great confidence in the future.  Click here to find our more about Phillip Thompson, OAM MP.

 Phillip has been working hard advocating for the people of North Queensland, particularly when it comes to backing projects which create jobs and drive the economy. He believes things work best when government creates the economic environment for growth and investment, and gets out of the way so that industries – like quarrying – can get about doing what they do with as little red tape as possible.
Phillip will outline the current pipeline of projects, give a preview of what’s to come in the near future, and provide an overview of recent changes to the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility which is set to further drive investment in the North Queensland region.
