About the role
Beenleigh Quarry, located between Brisbane & Gold Coast, is our strategic operation within the QLD region. This role will motivate and drive our production team to achieve their very best whilst also meeting company safety, environmental and financial targets.

You will be a key part of the leadership team responsible for assisting the Management team to deliver products that are fit for purpose, meet business forecasts and customer expectations.

About you
You will ideally come from a similar role within a quarrying/mining environment managing crushing, screening or a large process plant. You will have demonstrated experience supervising, training and coaching a multi discipline team.

The position will assist the Quarry Manager and Assistant Quarry Manager with management duties including performance development and management of operators, providing workflow and process direction, contractor and customer communications, site audits, general maintenance and upkeep of the quarry.

You will also need
  • Relevant quarry supervision accreditation such as Diploma in Extractive Industries or similar would be an advantage but not essential
  • Demonstrated leadership and people supervision experience
  • Thorough understanding of crushing and screening operations.
  • Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems
  • Be reliable, motivated and be able to work under pressure and changing priorities

Quarry Business Development Manager Gladstone / Mackay

The Earth Commodities Group is a Queensland Independent producer of Quarry Products and Silica Sand with sites strategically positioned throughout the state.

An outstanding opportunity has presented itself to become a part of the Earth Commodities team.

Based at our Gladstone (Yarwun) site we seek an experienced, responsible & organised professional.

Reporting to the Group General Manager in this role you will become responsible for sales performance, growth and profitability of both the Gladstone and Mackay quarry business’s.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess prior experience in a sales capacity in the quarry aggregates, concrete or broader construction industry, with a proven successful track record managing significant account portfolios. Be a confident decision maker and strong negotiator, you will be highly motivated with superior communication skills and a high level of commercial/financial acumen along with the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.

This role will allow you to showcase your excellent relationship building skills in developing meaningful relationships, while effectively managing your time and competing priorities on multiple projects.

The Company
Hallett Resources is a wholly owned entity within the MSP Group of companies.  MSP Group is an independent, South Australian owned business with a proud history of investing in South Australia.  Hallett Resources is the fastest growing and most dynamic business in the South Australian Construction Materials industry and operates hard rock quarries at McLaren Vale, Kulpara, Truro and has a future development resource at Greenock.  It also operates a recycling business and distribution yard at Dry Creek.
The Role
Due to an internal promotion, we are now in the need of a Quarry Manager.
The primary focus of the Quarry Manager will be the safe and efficient supervision of operations at McLaren Vale Quarries. With an uncompromising commitment to safety, you will have a genuine interest in the day to day supervision and challenges of running a hard rock operation, including responsibility for safety performance, production targets, quality control, and continuous improvement. 
You will have a strong ability to manage staff and focussed on improving the safety culture of the site.
Reporting to the Operational Performance Manager, other responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Implement strategies to achieve WH&S, Production and financial targets
  • Complete quarry development and production plans for the Quarry
  • Ensure all quarry materials and stockpiles meet Australian Standards, DPTI and customer specifications
  • Provide leadership to ensure all operations are conducted safely in accordance to legislation and MSP standards of OH&S
  • Supporting your team to understand and meet all quality, policy and procedure requirements
Key selection criteria:
  • South Australian Quarry Managers Ticket (or a State based equivalent)
  • Strong W H & S focus
  • Proven ability and experience in managing a hard rock quarry operation
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement strategies
  • Knowledge and experience with fixed and mobile plant and equipment
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
