Float Driver - Victoria

Sequel-Impact Drill & Blast
is the largest top hammer provider of drilling and blasting services on the east coast of Australia. We deliver safe and effective outcomes for our clients who work in the civil, mining and quarrying sectors.

Our fleet of 40 plus varied rigs such as Pantera, DPI, Ranger, ECM 585, 660 and 720 and the smaller agile Soosan allows us the ability to meet the needs of even the most challenging sites.

With over 30 years’ experience in drilling and blasting our family owned and operated business combined with a can-do attitude, positive team culture and drive to succeed has seen our services grow quickly over the past 5 years. As part of this growth we currently seeking to appoint an experienced Float Operator, located in Melbourne Vic. Primarily hauling drill rigs. The roll is full time driving, performing local work, with the possibility of overnight operations and as part of our blast crew.

You will be reporting to the Vic & SA Operations Manager. Your responsibilities will be for but not limited to, the following:

  • Transporting of heavy loads i.e. moving drill rigs between various sites.
  • Working as part of a small blast crew team loading shots and general labouring activities
  • Provide positive motivation to all fellow team members to ensure an ongoing positive work environment at all times
  • The transport, loading and unloading of Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate for Sequel-Impact Drill and Blast Pty Ltd following the HSCQE policies, procedures and legal requirements of certain acts 
ESSENTIAL Skills and requirements include:
  • Good understanding of applicable Safety and Workplace federal, state and local legislation
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong customer focus Current HR Licence held for a minimum of 5 years
  • Security sensitive Ammonium Nitrate police check
  • Current Dangerous Goods license
  • Intermediate literacy and numeracy skills
  • Construction Card
  • Ability to pass a police clearance check
  • The ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to use smart phones / technology
  • Flexibility to work to tight deadlines
  • Self-starter and well organised
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to cultivate authentic customer relationships
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and incident free operations

Quarry Manager
Alice Springs, Northern Territory


The role
We are continually looking to invest in our future and are currently seeking to appoint a Quarry Manager who will be responsible for quarry operation and management of the Alice Springs North Road Operations.  The successful applicant will report to the Quarry Operations Manager SA/NT and will receive an attractive salary package along with a fully maintained tool of trade vehicle for this role.

You will need exceptional leadership and people management skills along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with high level time management and planning skills. You will be required to demonstrate a genuine commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental improvement. 

Responsibilities

Concrete & Aggregates Tester
Narangba, Queensland

The role
We are currently seeking a full time Concrete & Aggregate Field Tester for our Narangba site in Queensland. This key role reports to the Laboratory Manager and you will undertake tasks in relation to sampling, testing and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Quality testing of concrete & raw materials
  • Maintain procedures and regulations in relation to sampling concrete & aggregates
  • Maintaining internal test frequencies
  • Maintaining Health & Safety and quality standards
  • Maintaining NATA accreditation
  • Communication with internal and external customers
  • Generally performing laboratory & field testing
What you will need to succeed
  • Commitment to safety, OH&S policies and procedures
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within a construction, geo-technical or materials testing NATA accredited laboratory
  • A good communicator
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Highly proficient with computer systems and software
  • Diploma educated – preferred but not essential

Dangerous Goods Driver - Southern QLD

As part of this growth we currently seeking to appoint an experienced Dangerous Goods Driver, located in the Warwick/Toowoomba region west of Brisbane.   Primarily hauling dangerous goods. The roll is full time for driving, performing local work, with the possibility of overnight operations and working as part of our blast crew. There is also possibility for the right candidate to be trained up as a shotfirer.

You will be reporting to the Southern Queensland Operations Manager. Your responsibilities will be for but not limited to, the following:

The roll can either be part time for driving, performing local work, with the possibility of overnight operations or full time working as part of our blast crew.

Laboratory Technician – Quarries

Western Quarries is a business based in Ararat. Part of a broader business group the quarry is quickly become a leading supplier of quality aggregates and crushed rocks to the broader Western districts.

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step of your career with a leading company. You will be based in Ararat on a more hands on role, but not limited to testing and sampling of our quarry products. 

Key duties include:

  • Hands on sampling and testing of quarry products
  • Generating reports on test results and accurate record keeping
  • Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Maintenance of laboratory in accordance with NATA accreditation requirements
  • Research & development of raw material products to ensure optimised quarry outputs
  • Develop, monitor and review inspection test plans (ITP’s)

The successful applicants should possess the following attributes:

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Laboratory techniques
  • Experience in quality control testing of construction materials products is a must
  • Self motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Strong understanding of NATA requirements 
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High level analysis and problem solving skills
  • Current drivers licence

The suitable candidate should have all the above in a hands on role. You must be able to work flexible hours to meet operational requirements. Weekend work will be required from time to time.

    The Quarry Manager must have an understanding and working knowledge of mobile and fixed plant crushing and screening equipment together with prior experience in a site supervisory role on large or multiple projects.  Strong people supervision skills together with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels are important, as are sound planning and organizations skills.  It is critical they hold the ability to identify and effectively respond to problems, as is possessing a positive, flexible and hands on approach to all operations. 

    REQUIREMENTS:
