Tasmanian Women in Resources Awards

The Tasmanian Women in Resources Awards provide a unique opportunity to recognise the excellent and hardworking women and companies in this sector and serve to promote, and encourage more women to consider the attractive career opportunities available in the mining and resources sector.

Since the establishment of the awards in 2013, the Australian resources sector has actively worked to promote the value of increasing participation in the resources sector of women at all levels. The Tasmanian Women in Resources Awards form part of the national program.

The Tasmanian Minerals & Energy Council and Women in Mining Network Tasmania AusIMM are delighted to announce that nominations for the 2018 Tasmanian Women in Resources Awards are now open in the following categories:

  • Exceptional Woman in Tasmanian Resources Sponsored by Bell Bay Aluminium
  • Exceptional Young Woman in Tasmanian Resources Sponsored by South32 TEMCO
  • Exceptional Woman in a Non-Executive Role Sponsored by Nyrstar
  • Outstanding Tasmanian Operator/Technician/Trade Woman Sponsored by South32 TEMCO
  • Gender Diversity Champion (female or male) Sponsored by Caterpillar Underground Mining
  • Excellence in Company Programs and Performance Sponsored by Cromarty

The awards selection criteria are available for download on the TMEC website at http://tasminerals.com.au/2018-women-in-resources-tasmania-awards

These awards are about recognising and rewarding the courage, leadership and creativity of Tasmanian women (and men) working in the mining and resource sector – they play a critical role in raising the profile and important contribution of women in this sector.

This year, we have introduced a new category that is specific to the Tasmania Awards, the Exceptional Woman in a Non-Executive Role.

Nominations are being accepted via Awards Force, an online platform.  Please use the following link to register as a user and submit your nomination: https://wirta2018.awardsplatform.com

Nominations for the 2018 Tasmanian Women in Resources Awards close at 6.00 p.m. on Friday 30 March 2018  Tasmanian award winners in all categories other than the Exceptional Woman in a Non-Executive Role will be put forward as the Tasmanian entrants in the national awards.

The 2018 Tasmanian Women in Resources Awards winners will be announced at a function at Government House in Hobart on Wednesday 30 May 2019 at 6.00 pm.
