Introduction  Managing hazards associated with Worker Health is critical in establishing and implementing an effective safety management system. This area of Health and Safety is getting added attention within all regulatory jurisdictions due to increasing incidence of death and serious illness from work related exposures.

Course Objectives

Mining legislation, Work Health and Safety legislation, and “duty of care” requirements in each State require quarry operators to manage the hazards associated with Worker Health. In NZ this includes the requirement to develop a Worker Health Plan. This webinar provides information on:

  • Site Worker Health hazards including dust, noise, hazardous substances, psychosocial hazards 
  • Exposure monitoring and health surveillance
  • Effective management of worker health hazards
  • What should be in your Worker Health Plan 

Participants will also be given practical examples of how small scale quarries have achieved significant safety improvement through managing worker health hazards.
