This PDP has been designed to provide participants with an introduction to the quarrying industry, including the development approvals, quarrying processes, products, and people and positions.

Topics Covered          

Provide an Introduction to Quarrying, covering:

  • What is a quarry, types of quarries, and where are the products used?
  • Quarrying history.
  • Consumption of quarry products.

The Development & Approvals process, covering:

  • Basic regulatory framework and permitting processes.
  • Community influences.
  • Outline the Quarrying processes used at most sites:

Identify the processes.

  • What equipment is used in each process?
  • Describe fixed and mobile plant.
  • Describe the various products manufactured from a quarry and their typical applications.

Outline the people and positions at a typical quarry, covering qualifications required, organisation, and site management.

**Minimum numbers must be reached for the course to run. If minimum numbers are not reached the course will be rescheduled.

Please notify us at admin@quarry.com.au if participant substitution is required for this event. Where circumstances force the IQA to cancel an event or workshop, the liability of the IQA shall be limited to a refund of any fees paid for that particular event or workshop”. 

If you have booked an event as a delegate or a sponsor that is being postponed due to COVID-19, your sponsorship / registration will automatically be transferred to the future event. If you are unable to sponsor / attend the event once the date has been rescheduled, you will receive a full refund of the cost of the sponsorship / registration. If you have registered for an event that is still running, and your company has a travel restriction in place due to COVID-19, please apply in writing to receive a refund. The refund applies only to the cost of the registration where the travel restriction relates explicitly to COVID-19.
