10.30am – 12.00pm Modelling Fixed Plant Optimisation – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Heiner Guenzel, Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology
With the substantial cost of new fixed plant or upgrades to existing fixed plant, quarry operators need to be sure that the end result will provide them with the outcomes they need to ensure that their plant is operating in the most efficient manner possible and that it will produce the products that they require.

To this end, a range of packages are available to simulate the operation of fixed plant within the quarry, allowing operators to run different scenarios and optimise the design of their plant before ordering the gear.

Heiner Gunzel and Craig Peterson of Sandvik will provide us with an overview of how Sandvik’s Plant Designer and OptiAgg programs work and the steps that we as operators of the plant can take to ensure that the modelling process is going to give us the right results first time.
