Precisionscreen are leaders in the design and manufacture of mobile screening, washing, crushing and recycling equipment for the quarry, mining, extractive, materials handling and recycling industries. We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Workshop Manager to join us at our Head Office based at Wacol.
The role would supervise & schedule the workshop team made up of fitters, machinists, boilermakers, electricians and support staff with some of the time spent on the tools. Responsible for optimising the efficiency and performance of the workshop team and ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
The main duties of this role:
• Set the pace in the workshop & keep staff on productive and efficient work
• Scheduling jobs and managing workflow from start to finish
• Overseeing the daily production targets and ensure deadlines are achieved
• Participating and running in time in motion studies to create standardized times for jobs
• Ensure stock control levels are met and maintenance of machinery and equipment is conducted with minimum interruption
• Carry out staff training & quality inspections
• Ensure that all safe work practices and a safe work environment are maintained
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:
• Extensive industry experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working as a Leading Hand or Supervisor, being able to guide and support staff but with a 'can do' 'hands on' attitude
• High level of mechanical aptitude
• Experience with hydraulics
• Ability to work within a paperless computer based scheduling system
• Highly organised with excellent communication skills
• Be able to prioritise and make quick decisions
• Fabrication, welding, machining and electrical experience desirable
• Previous experience with mobile crushing & screening equipment or similar mining/earthmoving equipment would be highly regarded
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:
• Relevant trade qualifications (Fitter/Turner, Mechanical Fitting, or similar discipline)
• Current drivers licence
• Forklift licence
