Course Overview The Working with Respirable Crystaline Silica course is an online, self-paced program designed to ensure participants understand the health risks associated with RCS, and how to minimise exposure.  At the end of this course, you will: Understand the health risks associated with RCS Understand forms of silica, and identify common products containing crystalline silica Understand how RCS is generated, and relevant Workplace Exposure Standards Understand control measures for RCS, including RPE Understand requirements for RCS monitoring and reporting Understand the legislation and regulations related to management of RCS in the workplace The course will take approximately 2 hours to complete and can be paused and re-commenced at any time. Who should do the course?

This course is suitable for quarry managers and supervisors, and others who have responsibility for developing and implementing safety management systems in quarries.  

For SSEs in Queensland:
This course meets the requirements for Site Senor Executives on sites with 5 or less employees, who must complete a course in Introduction to Safety Management Systems (as well as Electrical Awareness, Incident Investigation and Effective Risk Management).

A completion certificate will be issued once finished.

Delivery:
Delivery is fully online. This means learning can take place at any time during normal work hours or after work. As it is self-paced, the learner can take their time to ensure they fully understand the material. The course can be paused and re-commenced at any time and provides greater flexibility for the employer and the learner as learning can be scheduled around production.
