Member (MIQ) FAQs
Am I eligible for Member status?
- Working in management, senior supervisory or specialist roles in the sector
- Have a high level of practical experience within the sector, including in a position of responsible charge
- Ideally hold a minimum of a Diploma (or equivalent sector experience)
- Can be from within a quarrying business or a supplier to the essential construction materials sector
- Note: The IQA automatically recognises any Quarry Manager with the statutory right to practice in their state as a Member

How do I apply to become a Member with the IQA?
Complete our online application form
You will need:
- Current employment information
- Details of your management/specialist role and responsibilities
- Qualifications or equivalent experience details
- Length of experience in positions of responsible charge

- Priority access to management workshops and seminars
What is statutory recognition for Quarry Managers?
If you hold the statutory right to practice as a Quarry Manager in your state, the IQA automatically recognises this qualification for Member status.

Can I progress to Fellowship?
Yes. After 5 years of active IQA membership and meeting other criteria, you can apply for Fellowship (FIQ) - our highest achievable membership level.
