SA Branch closes year with
strong program
South Australia's branch closed
2025 with strong member engagement across three major events showcasing the
breadth of sector activity statewide.
More than 100 members and guests
gathered at the Pullman Adelaide Christmas celebration in November, with the
highlight being Mark Taylor's (Cavpower) elevation to Fellow of the Institute
of Quarrying (FIQ). All South Australia
branch FIQs present joined him on stage in recognition of his decades
championing SA's quarrying sector and next generation of professionals.
The Young Members Network gained
hands-on insight during a tour of Adbri's Sellicks Hard Rock Quarry, examining
recent dust suppression upgrades and environmental control innovations, while
the WHS Breakfast Seminar delivered urgent updates on silica risk management
compliance and unveiled the Department for Energy and Mining's new Quarry
Closure framework currently in development.
The SA committee is already planning for 2026,
with the first event scheduled for March
