Hazard Identification | Webinar

Course Overview

Date: Tuesday, August 11th
Time: 9:00am – 10:30am AEST (NSW Time)
Location: Online via MS Teams

The Webinar Will Cover

  • Hazard identification as the first stage of the risk management process
  • Types of hazards
  • Hazard identification tools and systems

The Brady Review (2019) highlighted failure to identify hazards as a major contributor to safety incidents across the mining and quarrying industry. In 36% of serious accidents, the hazard causing the accident had not been identified—meaning no control was in place.

This webinar examines the processes required to routinely identify hazards in the workplace so they can be effectively assessed and controlled. It helps keep hazard identification current and gives teams a safe space to discuss hazards and improve workplace safety.

  • Understand hazard identification as a critical part of the risk management process

  • Recognise common types of hazards in quarry environments
  • Explore common tools for hazard identification
