Supervisors face unique challenges — balancing production pressures, safety requirements, and managing diverse teams. Tensions can arise from safety concerns, workload pressures, or interpersonal conflicts and, if not addressed early, can impact both morale and productivity.

This short course equips supervisors with practical tools to handle conflict and have difficult conversations with confidence. Participants will explore the foundations of conflict management, learn strategies for prevention and resolution, and practice proven approaches to difficult workplace conversations.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise common causes and signs of conflict in teams
  • Apply strategies to prevent and resolve workplace tensions
  • Understand natural conflict responses (fight or flight) and how to manage them
  • Prepare for and conduct effective difficult conversations
  • Build a positive safety and teamwork culture through respectful communication

Interactive Activities

This webinar includes practical online activities to reinforce learning, explore real workplace situations and discuss best responses.

Participants will complete short role-play exercises to practice conversation frameworks in small groups.
