Mineral Resources Tasmania operates a core library, rock store and laboratory complex at Mornington on Hobart's eastern shore. This complex houses a reference archive of drill core, drill cuttings and rock samples for internal and external use. In addition the facility provides computer access to associated geological databases, core and sample viewing amenities, rock cutting and sampling equipment, sample preparation for XRF and XRD analyses, and a Hylogger hyperspectral core logging instrument.
