Workshop Overview
The Quarry Materials Production & Quality Management online workshop has been designed to provide participants with knowledge relating to specifications, quarry product test methods, quality control, basic statistical measures, technical characteristics, and the influence of quarry products on concrete, asphalt, seals, bases and fills, and other rock products.
The workshop will cover:
- Quarry products
- Quarry specifications
- Properties of quarry aggregates
- Quarry quality control and statistics
- Quarry sampling
Learning Objectives
- Understand how key quarry products and end use products are produced
- Identify what specifications apply to quarries
- Understand how to read and interpret quarry specification documents
- Describe the properties of aggregates and how they influence the properties of key end use quarry products
- Identify how quarry operations can impact on product quality
- Understand how quarries ensure their products conform to specification

Your Facilitator | Chris Georgiou
Chris has worked as a manager in the construction materials and mining industry for over 10 years. In this time, he has held senior statutory management positions at large hard rock quarries and a mineral sand mine. Chris is passionate about safety in the workplace ensuring systems and processes are in place support to the workforce to achieve this.
